Meeting Notes for February 26th
The Board had our regular meeting on Monday the 24th and all is going great with the club and thanks to a successful event our finances look very good. The board voted to give donations $5,000 to Mutual Ground via sponsorship of their event, $1,000 to Sci-Tech as sponsorship to their event, $1,000 Fox Valley Park District for kids camps, $500 to a joint international project for Croatia digital literacy.
The board voted to accept Sue Lindahl's application for membership and her install will be completed as soon as materials arrive.
Service Opportunity
The Aurora Inter-faith Pantry has a need on March 23rd from 9am - 2pm which is a distribution day. Ben will have a sign up sheet at our next meeting.
Youth
Yoyo was proudly wearing a new t-shirt Lorraine gave him for doing good at school
Ivan is enjoying baseball practice and he is doing very well with medical terminology class. He enjoyed a bike trip with Peter to St Charles on Sunday.
We did have another family step up to host and they are currently going through the background checks and training.
Membership
Not only did we gain 1 new member, we also had 2 new applications turned in. I believe we also have 2 more on the way which is fantastic.
The event on Wednesday night with Aurora Business United was fun and we had the opportunity to discuss Rotary with many people. Thanks Judd for putting that together and for Linda and Centennial Mortgage for the food.
Guest Speaker
Elizabeth Loving from Bucket of Love came to tell us about her non-profit that works with at risk youth in the Aurora area. She uses dance to help reach the kids and to help them cope with the many things they come across in their lives. Elizabeth has won awards from the city for the work she has done for kids. You can learn ore about Bucket of Love at www.bucketoflove.org.
Next weeks speaker is Sheli Massie from Goldfinch Cafe which is a non-profit pay what you can restaurant concept.

I had the winning ticket this week but I pulled the Ace of Clubs
We have a new projector!!!!!! It even has speakers built in and bluetooth speaker capabilities so even Tom can hear the presentations!

  Victoria was a recent in-bound from Venezuela and she has returned to pursue her college education. Now that she is graduating she is looking for employment to obtain her work visa.We never forget those who have gone out-bound or those we have been able to host for a year as an in-bound. Help Victoria find a position in her field which is Health Science and Biology with minor Chemistry and Physiology.
