They are the oldest foster home organization in IL having started 150 years ago. That is just 1 of many services they offer.
March 14th Dan Hedge West Aurora Backpack Food Program
A start up non-profit through the NI Food Bank will offer backpacks of food for kids in need in the District 129 grade schools.

Past district governor Pat Merryweather gave a presentation about Rotary district projects and programs. These included the current status and goals of the polio eradication program as well as global grants and scholarships funded by the Rotary Foundation.

Menelek Shah spoke about the power of ideas and the need to transition from old to new ideas as society changes. He also discussed the need for mentoring youth to provide them with a means of advancing their own well-being as well as for the improvement of our society in general. Menelek is a police officer at NIU and also a life coach and speaker.

ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARDS
R.Y.L.A.

2020-21 RYLA is going Virtual!!  It’s taken the District RYLA Team a little longer to plan our program due to all that has gone on in our world over the past year, but now we’re ready and looking forward to working with the youth in our District. You will experience team-building activities with other students from across Illinois, as well as a handful of exchange students from around the globe. Throughout the weekend, you will work in a variety of small groups as you solve puzzles, hone your leadership and communication style, and learn new ways to affect change.
This fun, interactive weekend is filled with sessions and activities to boost your team building, leadership, communication, and self-reflection skills. Do not miss this unique opportunity to learn more about yourself and others!

 

RYLA will be April 16-18, 2021 and the cost will be $100 per participant.
If you are or know a High School Junior or Senior please have them fill the application and return to Linda Yates
